Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched AIIMS-like institute for ayurveda in Delhi on the occasion of National Ayurveda Day. It is the first ever 200 bed capacity ayurveda hospital built on the lines of AIIMS. Government is planning to launch such traditional and hi-tech ayurveda centers in all districts of the state as said by the Prime Minister. This AIIMS-like institute for ayurveda in Delhi is equipped with most advanced technologies needed to treat patients.

The AIIA will function under the ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy or AYUSH. It will offer quality patient care and will be a milestone in generating scientific information about quality, safety, and efficacy of ayurvedic products.
Reminding about the social responsibilities of private companies, Modi also appealed them to contribute their part for developing yoga and ayurveda.
The first phase of the hospital was built with a budget of Rs 157 crore. It has various facilities such as a panchakarma therapy clinic where personalised care is provided through laboratories, and diagnostic labs that conduct specialised pathology, biochemistry, microbiology tests and radiology scans.
Teaching facilities to post-graduate students like PhD courses, and skill development programmes are also provided by the hospital.
