Andhra pradesh assembly passed a bill on 16th of May to amend its state public service act to give PV sindu (Olympic silver medalist) a post of government officer in group-1 category.
Earlier act was preventing her as there were some provisions in the earlier act of Andhra Pradesh under which it was difficult to appointed her in public services.
The government amended the section 4 of the law and made Sindhu eligible to be appointed in the revenue divisional crade officer.
Sindhu will also be appointed as the sports ambassador of the state, announced by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in the state assembly. He also promised that other sports persons will also be given jobs.
After Sindhu won the silver medal in the Olympics last year, Cabinet passed a resolution on August 22,2016 to appoint the player as Group-1 (Gazetted officer).
She was also given cash prize of Rs. 3 crore as a reward and a flat for her wonderful performance.
