Chandigarh Bus Driver Selection Rules:
Apart from the basic educational and other qualifications, applicants must undergo a systematic selection process that involves two steps. The following steps are involved in the CTU Bus Driver selection process:
Selection Process:
Step 1: Written Exam:
This objective test contains multiple-choice questions and is worth 100 marks, with no negative marking. Applicants from the general category must score at least 30%, while those from the SC category must score 25%. The CTU Driver Written Exam comprises three sections:
i) Knowledge of Motor Vehicle Act and Traffic rules = 50 Marks
ii) Knowledge of Bus/Vehicle Repair Maintenance = 40 Marks
iii) Basic Knowledge of First-Aid = 10 Marks
Total Marks-100
Note: No calculator is allowed inside the examination hall.
Step 2: Skills or Driving Test:
After qualifying in the written exam, candidates must appear for a driving skills test, which will be conducted at government-approved centers. The rules for the Chandigarh Driving skills test are:
(i) Dug/Ramp test (Reverse driving test) one chance.
(ii) “8” Shape driving test (for only those who qualify the dug/ramp test) one chance.
(iii) Road Test (for only those who (a) & (b) tests above.) one chance.
Note: Only one chance will be given.
Step 3: Document Verification Round:
The final selection round involves document checking/verification. Candidates who pass both the written exam and driving skills test will be invited for document verification. Those with valid documents will be offered a position in the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking department for driver posts.
Chandigarh Bus Conductor Selection Rules:
The rules for CTU Bus Conductor selection are almost identical. The selection process consists of two parts, with only one paper in the written exam.
Step 1: Written Exam:
The department will only take one paper, which will consist of two parts: Part-1 and Part-2.
Conductor Written Exam Part-1:
(i) Numerical Ability — 15 Questions
(ii) English (only up to 10th standard, — 10 Questions
(No translation in Hindi and Punjabi)
(iii) General Knowledge & General Behavior — 15 Questions
(iv) Elementary Computer Knowledge — 10 Questions
CTU Bus Conductor Written Exam Part-2:
(i) Knowledge of Traffic rules — 20 Questions
(ii) First Aid — 10 Questions
(iii) General behavior & Safety — 20 Questions
Applicants must score at least 25% marks in the written exam if they belong to the SC category and 30% marks for all other categories. There is no negative marking, so applicants should attempt all questions. No calculators are allowed inside the CTU Bus Conductor Exam Hall.
Step 2: Documents Verification (DV):
After passing the written exam, applicants will be called for document verification, and there is no interview process for conductors.
