India is going to construct world’s highest railway bridge over Chenab River. Build at a height of 359m, this bridge will be having 35 meters more height than the Eiffel Tower. It will be constructed at Jammu and Kashmir and the approximate cost to construct it will be around Rs. 1100 crore. The bridge work will be completed in around two years time span.
The bridge will be given shape of an arc in hostile terrain. More than 24,000 tonnes of high quality steel will be used for the construction. The thick (63mm) and high quality steel will make it blast proof as the area is more prone to terror attacks. It will also be able to bear temperatures up to -20 degrees Celsius.
Design and material Used: The Bridge will be designed in such a way that it will be able to withstand wind speed of up to 260 km/hr.
The bridge will surpass the record of the Beipan river Shuibai railway bridge (275 m) in China on successful completion.
