UK college to teach Hinglish to students for jobs in India
Portsmouth College in UK has included a mix of English and Hindi language ‘Hinglish’ course to teach its students. By doing this, it has become the first college of country to do such thing. The motive of course is to prepare British students looking for jobs in India or for the India based companies having its offices in UK.
Hinglish is spoken by mixing words from English and Hindi languages. It is widely used in Bollywood movies. Even many movies names are made using hybrid language such as Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal.
All women patrolling squad in Delhi Started
Delhi police introduced all women Police squad for patrolling in the city and PCR vans for the protection of women in Delhi. The squad will specially trained in activities such as keeping and riding the vehicles, weapon handling, firing and unarmed combat. Motive of the initiative is to motivate policewomen and to improve women security and comfort to women and girls on roads, public places, outside schools, metro stations, parks and colleges in south Delhi.
DMRC withdraws from two light metro projects in Kerala
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thrsday announced that it has withdrawn from two light metro projects in Kerala for Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. The reason behind withdraw was told to be lack of state government’s interest in the projects. The news was confirmed by DMRC chief adviser and famous by the tag of Metro Man, E Sreedharan.
The light Metro project of Rs. 7500 Crore was supposed to be connecting two cities by covering over 35 Km distance. The share of state in the project was pegged at Rs 2,700 crore.
Government Launches Biodegradable Sanitary Pads on Women’s Day At Rs. 2.50
Government has launched cheaper Biodegradable sanitary pads for women ‘Suvidha’ on the eve of International women’s day. Each pad will cost just Rs. 2.50. The pack will contain four pads and will be priced at Rs. 10 per pack. These oxo-biodegradable sanitary pads will be made available at Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi centres.
These will be available across 3200 Jan Aushadhi Centres by May 28, 2018 which is also the World Menstrual Hygiene Day. There is much need to take such initiatives in India. As per National Family Health Survey- 4 (2015-2016), 62% women of India aged between 15 to 24 years are still not using pads in India during their period cycle. They are using clothes which is unhygienic way.
Kim Jong-un to meet Trump by May after North Korea invitation
United States President Donald Trump has accepted North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un invitation to talk about their nuclear and missile programme. This will be first meeting between two leaders. Both leaders will meet in May but the venue of meeting has yet to be confirmed. The agenda of the meeting is to discuss the future of North Korean Nuclear programme.
Siddaramaiah unveils Karnataka flag Naada Dwaja Before elections
Flag of Karnataka Naada Dwaja was unveiled by Siddaramaiah government on Thursday (8-03-2018). Karnataka flag “Naada Dwaja” is tri coloured with state emblem ‘Ganda Bherunda’ at center. It was submitted to Chief minister Siddaramaiah by Kannada Development Authority (KDA) chairman S G Siddaramaiah at Vidhan Soudha in morning.
