Study in India Programme Approved by MHRD

Ministry of Human Research Development given approval to “Study in India” programme with objective to attract more foreign students. Different fee waiver slabs have been set by MHRD for meritorious foreign students starting from 100% fee waiving to 25 percent.

As per the programme top 25% students will get 100 per cent tuition fee waiver, next 25% will get 50 percent of tuition fee waives and next 25 percent will be given a concession of 25 percent in tuition fee.

The seats allotted for foreign students will be separate from those allotted to Indian students.


Asias Largest Tulip Garden Srinagar Opens For Visitors

Asia’s largest garden built in Srinagar of India has been opened for visitors. Known as Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, almost 12.5 lakh tulip bulbs of 48 varieties are sown in an area of 10-hectares. Along with tulips other bulbs sown include 40,000 hyacinth bulbs planted in separate terrace. The garden has been build on the bank of Dal lake.

The Garden was opened by Tourism minister Tasaduq Mufti and Floriculture minister Javed Mustafa Mir as first visitors of Tulip Garden.


AAI Signs MoU With Assam Government

Airport Authority of India (AAI) and Assam government under have signed an MoU for development of human settlements at villages in Kamrup district. The MoU was signed as a part of AAI’s initiative of Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR). According to agreement, Airport Authority of India will provide an assistance of Rs. 4.58 crore Rupees to Assam’s Kanpur District. The assistance will be utilized for improvement of the resilience of communities around Guwahati Airport.


World’s Oldest City Varanasi Goes Wireless

Varanasi – the Oldest City of world has become free of electric wires hanging in air thanks to completion of project to lay underground lines over 16 sq-km.

The project was announced back in June 2015 by former Union Minister of State for Power and Coal, Piyush Goyal. It was a Rs. 432 Crores project under which underground cables were to be laid down for more than 50,000 consumers.


India Becomes Fourth Largest Auto Market In The World

India has overtaken Germany to become World’s fourth largest Auto market in world. As per latest global data, India which is Asia’s third largest economy recorded automobile sales growth of 9.5%. India sold 4 million units of passenger and commercial vehicles whereas Germany sold 3.8-million vehicles.

India is now only behind from China (1st), USA (2nd) and Japan (3rd).
