Union Cabinet Approves Rs 4,500 Crore To Boost Development Projects In North-East
With an aim to boost development projects in North-East part of India, Union Cabinet has approved Schemes of North Eastern Council (NEC). Other currently working schemes will also continue along with NEC schemes. The approved amount of Rs. 4,500 crores is up to the year 2020.
Himachal Pradesh gets 80 million dollar loan from ADB
ADB has sanctioned a loan of 80 million dollar to Himachal Pradesh for boosting employment in the state. The fund will be used in HP state for moderanizing technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions and improve skills ecosystem.
It will be benefiting nearly 65 thousand youths by 2022. Apart from boosting employment, other parts of the TVET project will be a polytechnic for women, six city Livelihood Centers, and seven Rural Livelihood Centers, and upgrading 11 employment exchanges into model career Centers.
China’s 7000-kg space station Tiangong-1 to crash into Earth this week
Chinese space station Tiangong-1 having weight of more than 7 tons is about to crash on to earth. According to estimates it will crash on around April 1. According to Authorities of China, It will crash in northern US state such as Michigan. According to reports of European Space Agency, most part of the space station will burn before hitting the land of earth.
The Tiangong-1 was put into orbit September 2011. China lost its connection and control with Tiangong-1 in September 2016. It was expected to be crash into Earth somewhere near mid of 2017.
Assam Launched Women Helpline Number
In order to reduce crimes against women in Assam, Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched a women helpline number ‘181-Shakti’ in the state. This will be a toll free number. It will initially be working from 9 a.m to 5.30 p.m but later on will be operational for twenty four hours a day on all seven days. The helpline is a part of Union Ministry of women and child development’s initiative to provide 24 hours response to women affected by violence.
Madhya Pradesh govt raised Retirement age of State Employees
In a decision taken by MP government for its employees, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan increased the retirement age of government employees of state from existing 60 to 62 years. The new decision will be applicable on nearly five lakh regular employees in the Madhya Pradesh. The decision to increase retirement age was CM’s wish which he had expressed in August 2013.
Kidambi Srikanth Appointed Deputy Collector by Andhra Pradesh government
Indian Ace Shuttler Kidambi Srikanth has been appointed as Deputy Collector by Andhra Pradesh Government on 29th March, 2018. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu handed over appointment letter to Kidambi. He was promised a government job by Andhra Pradesh government after he won Indonesian Championship in June 2017.
Kidambi Srikanth is the second youngest player of India to receive Padma Shri after star badminton player PV Sindhu.
