India Ranked 60th in latest Global Innovation Index (GII) 2017
India has been ranked at 60th position in latest Global Innovation Index (GII) 2017. India has shown improvement of 6 places as compared to its earlier GII ranking of 2016. The GII was prepared on 127 countries. It was Switzerland that toped the list.
India has also launched a programme for states ranking named as “India Innovation Index”. It has been jointly launched by NITI Aayog, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) together.
This Index will rank states on Innovations through country’s first online innovation index portal that will capture data on innovation from all Indian states on innovation and regularly update it in real time.
Aakarshi Kashyap wins U-17 & U-19 singles titles at Badminton Jr. Nationals
world no.1 Junior shuttler Aakarshi Kashyap has won both U-17 and U-19 singles titles at Badminton junior Nationals held in Guwahati, Assam. In Under-17 category, 16-year-old from Aakarshi Kashyap from Bhilai defeated Malvika Bansod in the final. In under 19 categories final, she has beaten Vaidehi Choudhari.
