India-Indonesia Joint Military Drill ‘Garuda Shakti’
Joint military drill between India and Indonesian armies named ‘Garuda Shakti’ has been started at Bandung, Indonesia. This is the sixth edition of the joint exercise between two nations. It will happen for two weeks. Armies of both countries will share their experiences with each other in various areas of counter-terrorism operations, close quarter combat, and other areas of special operations.
Maharahtra Government to Sanitary Pads at Cheaper rates through Asmita Yojana
Government of Maharashtra has decided to launch Asmita Yojana on the International women day on March 8, 2018. Under the scheme state govt. will Provide Cheap Sanitary Pads to school girls and women of rural areas of Maharashtra. As per the information, govt will provide these pads to girls studying in Zilla Parishad schools at a price of Rs.5 per packet. Rural women will also be able to get it at a subsidized rate of Rs.24 and Rs.29.
The Asmita Yojana will be launched in the presence of star of recently released movie, Padman Mr. Akshay Kumar and Maharashtra chief minister Davendra Fadnavis.
Singapore Decided to Impose Carbon Tax from 2019
Singapore is all set to impose carbon tax from year 2019 in order to tackle the problem of green house gas emissions. The Tax will be applied on companies to make them more environment friendly. As per Finance minister Heng Swee Keat, tax would be applicable on all facilities that are generating 25,000 tonnes or more of greenhouse gas emissions a year. It will be covering all sector. The tax rate applied will be Sg$5.0 ($3.8) per tonne of greenhouse gas emissions for a period from 2019 to 2023.
India Successfully Test-Fires Agni-II Missile
India has successfully tested its mid range nuclear-capable Agni-II Missile from APJ Abdul Kalam island. The missile was test fired from a mobile launcher at launch complex 4 of the Integrated Test Range by Strategic Forces Command (SFC).
About Agni-II:

Haryana Government Launched 4 Food Canteens Under ‘Antyodaya Aahaar Yojna’
With an aim to provide health and hygienic food at cheaper prices, Haryana government launched four more food canteens in the state under ‘Antyodaya Aahaar Yojana’. The canteens have been launched at Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, and Yamunanagar by CM Manohar Lal khattar from Chandigrh through video conferencing. As per the scheme helthy food is provided to needy people at a price of Rs.10.

Railways to Set up Coach Factory in Maharashtra, will invest 600 Crores
Indian Railways in collaboration with Govt of Maharashtra has decided to set up a coach factory in Maharashtra (Latur) at an investment of Rs. 600 crore. The MoU was singed related to this between Union ministry of Railways and Maharashtra state government. The coach factory will be spread over a land of 150 hectares. The move will also generate employment in Marathwada (One of the most backward areas of Maharashtra).
PM Narendra Modi flags off Palace Queen Humsafar Express train between Mysuru & Udaipur
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi flagged off the train “Palace Queen Humsafar Express” at Mysuru railway station. The train will run from Mysuru to Udaipur in Rajasthan. It is expected to boost tourism sector. PM also dedicated 140-km long fully electrified railway line from Mysuru to KSR Bengaluru.
