ISRO planning to construct ‘igloos’ on Moon for astronauts
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is building igloos (referred to as lunar habitats) on the Moon. For building, ISRO will send robots and 3D printers to the Moon. The building material of igloos will include Lunar soil and other material. The constructed lunar habitats will be serving as outpost on the Moon similarly the ones that have been built in Antarctica. Its objective behind the igloos building at Moon is to help astronauts to spend more time on the moon.
Chilika Lake becomes largest habitat of Irrawaddy dolphins globally
Chilika lake of Odisha has become single largest habitat of Irrawaddy dolphins in the world. As per the reports of Chilika Development Authority (CDA), there are total 155 Irrawaddy dolphins found in the Chilika lake.
Second Swajal Yojna project Launched in Rajasthan
Union Minister Uma Bharti launched Second Swajal Yojna project in Rajasthan to ensure availability if clean and fresh drinking water in the state. The freshwater scheme in Rajasthan was launched at Rajasthan’s Bhikampura village. Swajal Yojna is the second related to water launched after the first one was started last week in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district. A budget amount of Rs. 54.17 lakh has been allotted for this pilot project in Rajasthan.
Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament: Amit strikes gold; Mary Kom, Seema settle for silver
Five times world champion M C Mary Kom had to satisfy with silver in 69th Strandja Memorial boxing tournament for men and women. Mary Kom was defeated by Bulgaria’s Sevda Asenova in the final. Amit Panghal won his second consecutive international gold at the boxing tournament. Seema Poonia (+81kg) has also had to get satisfied with silver.
Tamil Nadu and Microsoft Collaborates to accelerate cloud technology in education
Tamil Nadu and Microsoft collaborated with each other to transform and strengthen education sector in the state. The agreement is about implementing technology in teaching and learning in the state. It also aims to reform education, build tech capacity and enhance digital literacy across all levels. Tamil Nadu will identify seven schools and Microsoft will train teachers and students of those schools on 21st century skills in areas such as critical thinking, creative coding & gaming, app development, robotics, and entrepreneurship.
Telangana Launches health-cum-life insurance scheme for farmers
State government Telangana has launched a health-cum-life insurance scheme for farmers in the state. The five lakh rupees health isurance scheme was launched by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Karimnagar, Telanagana while addressing the regional conference of Farmer’s Coordination Committees.
The scheme will cover approx. 70 lakh farmers across Telangana. As per the details of health insurance scheme for farmers in Telanagana, the amount will be paid to the family of farmer in case of death. It will also cover medical benefits like hospitalization of beneficiary. The entire premium will be borne by Government of Telangana.
EPFO Introduces UAN- Aadhar Linking New Facility
Employee’s Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched a new facility UAN-Aadhaar for linking linkinh Aadhaar for the convenience of members using EPFO Link in UMANG Mobile App. The facility on e-KYC Portal also contains a new feature to link UAN with Aadhaar online using bio-metric credentials also.
