Aditya Mehta Wins Kolkata Open 2018 International Invitation Snooker Championship
In a recent snooker championship being held at capital city of West Bengal Kolkata, professional player Aditya Mehta has won the Kolkata Open 2018 International Invitation Snooker Championship. This was the third edition of the Kolkata Open title. Aditya won the championship by defeating Englishman Professional Player Alfie Burden in the final.
Karnataka Tops States with Investment Intentions of Rs. 1.49 lakh crore
Karnataka has become the top state of India with having investment intentions of up to Rs. 1.49 lakh crore till the October month of 2017. The deceleration was made by Minister for Large, Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development of Karnataka R V Deshpande. This investment intention of Rs. 1.49 crore was about 42% of the total of all India’s total investment intentions.
ISRO names Dr Sivan K as new chairman
Indian space scientist Dr Sivan K has been appointed as new chairman of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on last Wednesday. Sivan is going to succeed A.S. Kiran Kumar, who was on the post of chairman of ISRO for last three years since January 12, 2015. Sivan is currently at the post of director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.
Famous by the name of Rocket man, Dr Sivan is from among a few scientists who is having complete knowledge of every department of ISRO. He will be holding the position of ISRO chairman for the next three years.
Sivan has been a very important scientist of ISRO. He joined ISRO in 1982 in PSLV project and contributed majorly in the completion of the project in various areas such as planning, mission design, mission integration and analysis.
South Korea and GCCI sign MoU for business cooperation
With an aim to help Gujarat-based small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to explore more business growth opportunities, an MoU was signed between South Korea and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). As per the MoU, both will corporate for industries in Gujarat and the East Asian country, with a focus on automobile, defence and textiles sectors.
The South Korean delegation was led by Kim Soungeun (South Korea Consul General in Mumbai). GCCI president Shailesh Patwari on the occasion addressed that the MoU will help Gujarat to implement South Korean technology into textile industry in Gujarat so as to reduce the cost and expenses. With this the state will be able to Bangladesh and China and will be able to improve its ready made apparel trade.
