Saudi Arabia Approved yoga as sports activity

Saudi Arabia Ministry of Commerce and Investment (MCI) has approved yoga as a sports activity. It was confirmed by Nouf Al-Marwaai, founder of the Arab Yoga Foundation. As per the new rule, teaching of yoga will be a sports activity which can be performed freely in Saudi Arabia.

With this People of Saudi can also get license teach Yoga.


Aditi Ashok Becomes first Indian to qualify for LPGA Tour Championships

Aditi Ashok of India has qualified for the prestigious CME Group Tour Championship on the LPGA. She is the first Indian to qualify for this event. Aditi, a 19-year-old prodigy from Bengaluru is among the eight rookies who have made it to Tour Championships.

Along with Aditi, other rookies in the field are Nicole Broch Larsen, Peiyun Chien, Nelly Korda , Olafia Kristensdottir, Sung Hyun Park, Madelene Sagstrom and Angel Yin.


China launched World’s first fully electric cargo ship

China has achieved a remarkable milestone after it introduced World’s first fully electric cargo ship. It is all electric ship and has capacity to carry 2000-tonnes cargo. It can travel for 80KM by keeping 2000-tonnes cargo after a two hours charging.

World’s first fully electric cargo ship by China is 70.5-metre-long and its weight is about 600 tonnes. The ship was launched in in Guangzhou in South China’s Guangdong Province. It is powered by 26-tonne lithium battery which gives it a speed of 12.8 km per hour.

The ship is environment friendly as it does not use fossil fuels so will be having zero emission, including carbon, sulphur and PM2.5.


Ganga Kumari becomes first transgender to be appointed in Rajasthan Police

India is continuously working to provide a prestigious place for transgenders in the community as Rajasthan High Court on Monday directed the police department to appoint Ganga Kumari as constable, after officials denied her a post due to her gender and reported lack of clarity of rules in 2015.

Ganga Kumari fought for two-year battle in the Rajasthan High Court for the rights. Justice Dinesh Mehta asked police department of Rajasthan to appoint Kumari within six weeks from the date of the order. She will also be provided with the notional benefits from year 2015.


Uttar Pradesh tops in mobilising Jan Dhan Account

Uttar Pradesh has been the top state of the country in terms of opening bank accounts ubder new Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) after the demonetisation was done in post November 8, 2016.

In last one year One-fifth of the more than five crore new PMJDY accounts were belonging to Uttar Pradesh. The total number of Jan Dhan accounts in the state has crossed to 4 Crore.

Bihar with more than 3 Crore accounts stands at second position in the list of states with most number of Jan Dhan accounts.


NIOT to build India’s first offshore desalination plant near Chennai coast

National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) will be building India’s first offshore desalination plant about 40km from the Chennai coast. It will be having capacity of about 10 million litres of water per day. The project will be costing about Rs.2,000 crore, the detail report has been submitted to central government and is yet to be approved by the center.
