First casino game training course centre of India Started in Goa
India’s first Casino training course centre has been set up in Goa by Delta Corp Limited. The casino game training courses were earlier set up in 2013 as a part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
But rules to apply were not decided at that time. But now there are rules and only a person who have passed HSC exams and have some skills in math can apply. Students will be able to get jobs in reputed hotels after completing the course as claimed by the management.
Union Cabinet introduces Pradhan Mantri Mahila Shakti Kendra
CCEA (Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs) gave its approval to expand schemes of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) under the Mission for Protection and Empowerment for Women. With financial outlay of 3636.85 crore, the scheme has been expanded for a period from 2017-18 to 2019-20. A new scheme named as Pradhan Mantri Mahila Shakti Kendra’ (PMSSK) was also approved by CCEA.
Union Government Sets Minimum Export Price of Onion at $850 per Tonne
Minimum Export Price of Onion at $850 per Tonne is set by Union Government to ensure its availability in the domestic market. As per Ram Vilas Paswan, this step will reduce cheap export from the country and augment its domestic availability. Ministry also given authorizations to National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) and Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) for procurement of 12 thousand tonnes onion.
YONO – an Integrated app for Financial Services Launched by SBI
India’s largest public sector bank SBI has launched an Integrated app for Financial Services named as YONO. The YONO app meaning is “You Need Only One” and it will offer single platform for all kinds of financial and lifestyle products. There are 14 different categories included in the app to facilitate its users such as booking and renting cabs, entertainment, dining experience, travel and stay, medical needs.
Bank has also partnered with various online e-commerce players such as Amazon, Uber, Ola, Myntra, Jabong, Shoppers Stop, Cox & Kings, Thomas Cook, Yatra, Airbnb, Swiggy, and Byus to provide customised offers and discounts to its app users.
CCEA approves expansion of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme
Government has decided to expand its Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme after successful launch in 161 districts of the country. The approval for expansion has been given by CCEA. The scheme will now be implemented in all 640 districts of the country at a proposed outlay of Rs.1132.5 crore.
Central Government approves Rs.1 Lakh Crores for infrastructural development of Tamil Nadu
Center has sansctioned Rupees One lakh Crore infrastructure projects for Tamil Nadu state. The projects include three elevated corridors for Chennai and bus ports at Madurai, Coimbatore, and Salem that will be on par with airports.
The projects were announced by Union Road Transport, Highways, and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari. Gadkari also announced road and highway projects worth Rs. 40,000 Crore along with Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
Asia Pacific Screen Awards: Big Win for Rajkummar Rao and ‘Newton’
Rajkummar Rao-starrer movie Newton has won two awards at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards at a ceremony in Brisbane, Australia. Rajkummar Rao was given best actor award whereas Mayank Tewari and Amit V Masurkar won the award for best screenplay. Newton was also the Indian entry for Oscar awards.
