Telangana provide 24×7 Free Electricity to Farmers
Telangana government has decided to provide free electricity to farmers of state for 24 hours a day with an aim to boost the agriculture sector . The free 24 hours power supply to farmers starts from Monday on experimental basis for five days.
This is a pilot project of the Telangana state government. Earlier state had been running a pilot project of this kind to the farm sector in three districts during the kharif season. Now they have decided to run it over whole state for initial five to six days.
India clinched 16 medals including 4 gold in Commonwealth Shooting Championships
Indian players have been continuously performing well at ongoing Commonwealth Shooting Championships at Gold Coast, Australia. Till now India has bagged 16 medals which includes four gold medals.
On day six of the events, Anish Bhanwala won silver in the men’s 25 metre Rapid Fire Pistol while Neeraj Kumar bagged a bronze in the same event.
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal launches 647 schemes for development of Majuli
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched 647 schemes for world’s largest river island Majuli. The schemes entails an investment of Rs 24.57.
Out of these 647 schemes 448 schemes will be working under MGNREGA and rest of the 199 schemes will be under 14th Finance Commission. The 448 MGNREGA schemes will involve Rs 21.90 crore while Rs 2.67 crore will be for 199 schemes under 14th Finance Commission.
Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana launched to promote philately
The Union Ministry of Communications has introduced Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana, a pan India scholarship program for school youngsters to expand the reach of Philately. Meaning of SPARSH is Scholarship for Promotion of Aptitude and Research in Stamps as a Hobby.
Under this scheme scholarships will be given to children from class sixth to class nine who have good academic records and also pursuing Philately as hobby through competitive selection process in all postal circles. Total 920 scholarships to students who choose Philately as hobby will be provided by the government
Indian Women Win Asia Cup and Qualifies for Hockey World Cup
India beat China in the final of Asia Cup hockey title 2017 to win the title by 5-4. With this win Indian women Hockey team also qualifies for the World Cup 2018 as Continental champion.
Savita Punia played brilliantly and was selected as Goalkeeper-of-the-Tournament while Monica was declared Woman-of-the-Match . Rani scored two goals whereas other three goals were scored by Monica, Lilima Minz, and Navjot Kaur to register a win in final of Asia Cup hockey against China by 5-4.
Mary Kom Named Women’s Youth World Championships Ambassador
MC Mary Kom a five times world champion and bronze medal winner at Olympics has been declared as the brand ambassador for the upcoming AIBA Women’s Youth World Championships. The AIBA Women’s Youth World Championships will be held at Guwahati of Assam state and starts from 19th November till 26 November, 2017.
Mary Kom is currently playing at Asian Championships taking place at Vietnam and is performing brilliantly.
Haryana Government Signs Pacts Worth Over Rs. 2,000 crores at World Food India
An initial pacts of Rs. 2,069 crore was signed by Haryana government with 44 agro-based and food processing enterprises and establishments with an aim to provide employment to 5,012 persons.
The MoUs were signed at the Haryana Session on the second day of the three-day World Food India in the presence of in the presence of Manohar Lal Khattar at three-day World Food India organized in Delhi.
