Shiv Kapur clinches Panasonic Open title
Shiv Kapur won his second Asian Tour and his first Asian Tour title in India on Sunday as he lifted Panasonic Open title trophy. Earlier Kapur had won Yeangder Heritage in April and he finished at second in Thiland’s Open this season.
Shiv Kapur had won the first Asian tour title of his career in 2005 at the Volvo Masters of Asia.
AI ‘boy’ of Tokyo became first bot to gain a residency
AI ‘boy’ character was given an official residence of central Tokyo district on Saturday, the virtual newcomer resembling a chatty seven-year-old boy. The boy is named as Shibuya Mirai. He does not exist physically, but can do text conversations with humans on the widely used LINE messaging app.
Mary Kom and Sonia enter Asian Boxing Championships final
Mc Mary Kom(48Kg) has been on the way to win her fifth Asian Championships gold after she entered to the final of championship along with Sonia Lather (57kg). Mart Kom started brilliantly and defeated Japanese Tsubasa Komura by 5-0 verdict to the summit clash for the fifth time in her six appearances at the event.
Final of championship will be held on Wednesday between Mary Kom and North Korea’s Kim Hyang Mi. Mary Kom a 35-year-old Rajya Sabha MP, has also won bronze medal at Olympics.
Commonwealth Shooting Championships: India finish with 20 medals, Satyendra wins gold
India finished with 20 medals at Commonwealth shooting Championships. Out of 20 medals won by the whole Indian squad, Six are Gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals.
On Monday two Indian shooters Satyendra Singh and Sanjeev Rajput won a gold and a silver respectively in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event on Monday. Along with Satyendra Singh and Sanjeev Rajput, Chain Singh also qualified for the eight men final of 3 Positions event on last day of the events.
Surat got best city bus services award attracted 87 percent of private vehicle users
Surat Municipal Corporation was selected for the ‘Best City Bus Services Award’ on Monday by the Central government. Surat Municipal Corporation got it by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Reason for Choosing Surat Municipal Corporation:
Surat Municipal Corporation has attracted 87 percent of private vehicle and auto-rickshaw users to its busses which was the major reason behind the selection of Surat Municipal Corporation for the award.
SAMPRITI 2017 – India-Bangladesh joint exercise begins in Meghalaya
Indian Army personnel and Bangladesh joint training exercise ‘Sampriti-7’ has begun in Meghalaya. This is a counter-terrorist training exercise which started from 6th and will end on 18th November 2017. It will took place at India’s Jungle Warfare School at Vairengte in Mizoram and at the Joint Training Node at Umroi in Meghalaya.
Sampriti 2017 is the seventh edition of joint exercise between India and Bangladesh, sending a strong signal to world about the bonding and good relationships between India and Bangladesh to fight against terrorism jointly.
