India and Nepal Joint tiger census

India and Nepal both are going to conduct Joint tiger census in their respective forests, National parks and in tiger reserve areas by using a Globally recognised method. The joint tiger census is to be performed to count the tigers properly by avoiding repetitive counting of tigers in the adjacent areas and parks of both countries.

Under the programme, cameras will be installed in various locations in tiger habitats as well as in buffer zones to capture the movement of tigers. The counting will be started from second week of November as per the officials.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi Laid Foundation stones of AIIMS and IIIT in Himachal Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stones of AIIMS and IIIT here in Bilaspur of Himachal Pradesh in the presence of Governor Acharya Dev Vrat, CM Virbhadra Singh and Union Minister JP Nadda at a programme.

In his speech PM Narendra Modi said that opening of AIIMS and IIIT in Himachal Pradesh will provide many benefits to people such as health, medical education and employment benefits.


National Higways Authority of India (NHAI)

National Higways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a campaign for eye checkup and spectacles distributions to drivers of trucks, their cleaners and helpers. The campaign was launched by Nitin Gadkari (Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation). The place of launch was Panjari Toll Plaza, Nagpur Bypass, Nagpur in Maharashtra.

The aim of the free campaign is to improve the vision of driver community of India as good eyesight is a basic requirement of driving and truck drivers are the persons who drive most of the times especially in nights. Reduction in number of accidents is the basic aim behind this free eye checkup campaign for drivers.

Under this free eye checkup, 50 eye camps will be established at National Highways. The campaign will be attended by eye specialists and support staff volunteers. Spectacles up to a certain power will be distributed under the camps. Eyes will also be checked for defects like cataract and proper medicines will be provided accordingly. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), governments, social enterprises and private businesses have been roped in by the NHAI to make the campaign successful.


Karnataka State government launched Mathru Purna Nutrition Scheme for Pregnant Women

Chief minister of Karnataka on the occasion of birth aiversary of Mahatma Gandhi, launched a scheme “Mathru Purna” for pregnant women of the rural areas of the state at Vidhan Soudha, in Bengaluru. This is a nutrition providing scheme under which pregnant and lactating poor women of the rural areas will be provided nutritious food of one time. The one time meal will be provided for 25 days.

Content of Mathru Purna Nutrition Scheme meal

One time meal under “Mathru Purna” scheme will contain rice, dal with vegetables or sambar, one boiled egg and 200ml of milk. Women can get the meal from anganwadis. For vegetarian women, two varieties of sprouts will be given at the place of egg.


Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India Conducted Bi-annual Talk

A talk will be conducted between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India on 3rd – 5th October 2017 on the Rohingyas and other issues between the two countries. The talk will be held at a BSF camp in New Delhi. From Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), it will be led by Director General Maj Gen. Abul Hossain whereas Border Security Force (BSF) of India chief KK Sharma will take led talk from Indian side.


UP is top Indian State With Highest active gun licences

Uttar Pradesh as per the latest statistics released by Union Home Ministry is the top Indian State with highest active gun licences among all states as well as Union Territories also. According to statistics, 12.77 lakh people in Uttar Pradesh hold a valid licence to carry a Gun with them.

The second state in terms of having valid gun license is Jammu and Kashmir. The state has total 3.69 lakh people with a valid licence to carry a gun with them.
