Free WiFi services for MP’s adopted villages Across India
WiFi has become one of the integral part of human life today. Now villages adopted by MPs in India are going to become WiFi enabled in India. The government of India has decided to digitally connect all villages of India adopted by MPs under ‘Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna’.
Under the plan government has decided to link each of the 2.5 lakh gram panchayats. These villages will be linked using high speed optical fibre network under Bharat Net Project. This new plan of providing WiFi services to adopted villages will be completed till March 2019.
What is Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana?
Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was launched in On Birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan that is on 11 October 2014. Prime minister Narendra Modi had launched it. He had started the Yojana by adopting Jayapur village of his constituency Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
This yojana is related to rural development programme broadly focusing upon the development in the villages. It includes social development, cultural development and spread motivation among people of that particular village. It was a good step taken by the current government to bring all MPs under one umbrella. MPs from all parties including opposition participated in the initiative. Even Sachin Tendulkar also shown interest in the scheme.
Below is the list of villages adopted by other famous MPs of India.
- Udwa village of Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh was adopted by Sonia Gandhi.
- Her son Rahul Gandhi adopted Deeh village in his constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh.
- Sachin Tendulkar had adopted two villages under the Yojana. He adopted Puttamraju vari Kandriga(P.R.Kandriga) in Andhra Pradesh and also Donja village in Osmanabad district of Marathwada, Maharastra.
