Goa government is planning to sign an MOU with center government to provide subsidized medicines to its citizens. The MOU will be signed in June 2017 under PMBJP (Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Program). Goa chief minister Manohar Parikar will sign the memorandum of understanding. After the implementation names of all the medical stored that are under the state government will be changed to “Jan Aushadhi Kendra”.
About PMBJP
It is a Union Ministry of Chemicals initiative launched by department of pharmaceuticals to provide medicines at cheaper rates to the citizens especially the poor and disadvantaged. These Jan Aushadhi Kendras will provide generic drugs to people which are equivalent to branded drugs in terms of quality and efficacy but will be available at affordable prices.
