Indian Shooter Heena Sidhu won gold medal at Commonwealth Shooting Championships in the women’s 10m Air Pistol event at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships held at Brisbane on Tuesday. Heena Sidhu beat Elena Galiabovitch from Australia. Elena Galiabovitch scored 238.2 and settle for silver whereas Heena scored 240.8 to grab the Gold Medal for India at Commonwealth Shooting Championships. Bronze was also won by Australian Kristy Gillman (213.7).
In men, Deepak Kumar won a bronze for India in 10m Air Rifle event. London Olympic bronze-medallist Gagan Narang could manage to grab fourth place in the same event whereas Ravikumar ended at fifth.

Earlier in this month pair of Sidhu and Jitu Rai had also won gold for India by beating France at the ISSF World Cup final held in New Delhi. Heena-Jitu pair had got 483.4 points in comparision to France’s 481.1 points. This was Heena’s overall third gold medal with Jitu Rai as the duo had also claimed the top place in the same event at the ISSF World Cup in Delhi in February as well as in ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol series in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
