International Shooting in Hannover was held where Indian ace shooter Heena Sindhu clinched gold medal. She got this achievement in women’s 10m air pistol. P. Shri Nivetha another Indian also won bronze medal in the same category. This victory means a lot to both the players as it will boost moral for upcoming ISSF Munich World Cup going to held next week from May 22 to 29th May, 2018.
Here is how it happened?
Heena Sindhu was in great form throughout the beginning of final against France’s Mathilde Lamolle. Mathilde was also in phenomenal form and once the game was tied between the two with 239.8 points. But Heena won the tie to win the gold ahead of Mathilde.
Heena started with a row of scores in the 9s, then She switched gears and notched up 10 and above consistently to break away from the field. Her second series produced consistent 10s and she even hit a perfect 10.9 in the elimination round to put herself in contention for gold.
Heena in start seemed to fight hard for 3rd-4th sot, then winner of gold at CWG 2018 scored a 10.9 on her 13th shot in the final. She then took lead and never let her opponent to cross that led till end of match.
Her compatriot P. Shri Nivetha finished third place as she scored 219.2 to grab Bronze medal for India at International Shooting in Hannover.
