Himachal pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has launched a Shakti app with a motive to increase women safety in the state. The app has been developed under National Informatics Centre (NIC) of the Himachal Pradesh government. Suresh Bhardwaj(Minister of Education), Chief Secretary Mr. Vineet Chawdhary, Principal Secretary to CM Manisha Nanda and other senior civil and police officers were present on the occasion of Shakti app inauguration.
How Shakti Mobile App Works?
Shakti app comes comes with a panic button which can be pressed by a woman in trouble. There is no need of Internet connection for using the app. Once the panic button is pressed, a message containing location of sender will be send to the local police control room. The app will automatically start recording audio and video after 20 seconds.
The app can be used in two languages – Hindi and English. The app is so effective that it will be triggered by shaking of mobile or if the mobile is dropped.
Apart from launching Shakti Mobile App, Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur also started ‘GUDDIYA‘ helpline number 1515 and another helpline number 1090 named as “Hoshiyar Singh“.
