India has achieved 8th position in the 2017 A.T. Kearney Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Confidence Index. According to the report, India stands on 7 of the top-10 factors which investors consider while deciding on an investment destination.
As per the AT Kearney report, Transparent and an ‘easy’ business environment have made India an attractive destination for foreign companies.
List is topped by US followed by Germany and China at the second and third place respectively. United Kingdom and Canada make up the rest of top 5.
In the survey 31% of the respondents favored India to be best for business. This has been made possible by the new reform efforts by the current government such as national goods and service tax (GST) reform, the largest non-direct tax reform in India in recent years.
Also 70% of the respondents have planned to maintain or increase their FDI in India in future years.
About Global FDI Confidence Index
The Index is based on annual analysis done on various companies to know how political, economic, and regulatory changes will likely affect FDI inflows into countries in the coming years. The Index is constructed using primary data from a proprietary survey administered to senior executives of the world’s leading corporations. All companies that take part in the survey have annual revenues of $500 million or more.
