India Host 2022 FIFA Under 17 World Cup
Fifa Council has confirmed that U-17 Women World Cup 2022 will be hosted by India. The mega tournament will start from October 11 to 30 next year. FIFA has also approved other international matches to be held next year along with U-17 Football Women World Cup Tournament 2022.
Earlier India was going to host 2020 U-17 World Cup. But, Covid-19 Pandemic changed the things. First the event was postponed to 2021. Then it was cancelled after observing the situation and keeping in mind the health of the audience as well as players. India in 2017 had hosted FIFA U17 World Cup across 6 cities, including Kolkata, Kochi and New Delhi.
FIFA Council also approved dates for the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand 2023 from July 20 to August 20, 2023. Other approval by 71st FIFA Congress were dates announcement of FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2022 which is to be held in Costa Rica from 10 to 28 August 2022.
