India Sri lanka has singed an agreement on Friday. According to agreement, both countries will exchange information with each other for better drug control between two. The step has bee taken to reduce smuggling of drugs in both countries.
The decision was taken at the third bilateral meeting between delegations from India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Sri Lanka’s Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) on narcotics, drugs and psychotropic substances and related matters.
Both delegations during their meeting discussed about latest trends and methods used for drug smuggling in Indian-Srilankan region. Both discussed ways on how to tackle this problem, how to trace those who are involved in drug smuggling between both countries.

Who led delegations?
From India’s side it was NCB Director General Abhay. Along with Abhay, other members involved in delegation were Tamil Nadu police officials, Coast Guard and the Ministries of Home Affairs as well as External Affairs. On the other hand from the side of Sri Lanka, their delegaion was led by PNB Deputy Inspector General Sajeewa Medawatte.
