For a better cooperation between Indian army and US soldiers, a joint military exercise ‘Vajra Prahar‘ will be held in the third month of January at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Seattle. India will send a 45 member Special Forces team from Indian Army’s Southern Command to get trained along with US soldiers.
Vajra Prahar is the joint training exercise between India and USA which is held on annual basis alternatively in both countries. The exercise was started in the year 2010. Although it is an annual exercise, but was not conducted between a period from 2012 to 2015. Then this military exercise between India and USA was conducted after a gap of three years in 2015 again. The last edition of exercise was held in India at Jodhpur in March 2017.
The aim of the exercise is to send a strong message to other countries about the strong relationships between India and USA. It will also help the two defence forces to share the skills of each other. The exercise main focus is on the special operations in urban areas.
