Indian women cricket team pacer Jhulan Goswami becomes first female cricketer to take 200 ODI wickets. Goswami was playing an ODI match on Wednesday against south Africa when she dismissed south African opener batswoman Laura Wolvaardt to make it to 200 ODI wickets.
Now this unique record to be the first to have 200 ODI wickets in both male and female category is named to Indian cricket player. Earlier it was Kapil Dev who had become the first male cricketer to get 200 ODI wickets.
Jhulan Goswami got this feat in her 166th one day international match. Before that in 2017, Jhulan also became highest wicket taking female cricketer of world. Jhulan comes from Chakdaha in Nadia district of West Bengal. She made debut to international cricket in 2002 and since then she has been an important part of the Indian women cricket team’s bowling department.
She has been very consistent with her bowling performance. She was also recognised as ICC Women Cricketer of the Year in 2007.
