Karnataka Raj Bhavan is opened for public by Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala. People can visit the old Bhavan for 15 days starting from August 16, 2018. But people who have done online booking will only be allowed to visit the heritage site till August 31 from 4:30 pm to 7 pm.
As per guidelines issued by Karnataka Tourism Department, people will be allowed to visit the heritage building in batches. The time permitted to see the Karnataka old Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru will be 20 minutes.
About Karnataka Raj Bhavan
The Raj Bhavan of Karnataka is situated in Bengaluru. The heritage building was build during British army officer Sir Mark Cubbon. It took time between 1840 to 1842 to get completed. Till then the common people were not allowed to enter to the building. But now to encourage tourism in the state, the door are open for public.
The earlier name of the Raj Bhavan during British rule was Bangalore Residency or Mysore State Residency or it was simply called the Residency. Now talking about the infrastructure of the building. The Raj Bhavan houses a ‘Glass House‘. All swearing-in ceremonies of the state takes place here. The Bhavan has total 19 bedrooms. Each bedroom is given the name of famous Indian rivers and mountains.
