World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has signed Kavita Devi for the WWE developmental contract. With this she has become first Indian Woman to join WWE – World Wrestling Entertainment industry. The announcement of KAvita Devi’s selection was made by the Jinder Mahal who is current WWE heavyweight champion.
Prior to becoming first Indian Woman to join WWE, Kavita Devi, was part of the WWE’s Mae Young classic tournament. She is a power-lifter and have won gold medal for India at 2016 South Asian Games. She is also the first Indian woman to compete in a WWE ring while she participated in the Mae Young Classic. Kavita Devi has also played Kabaddi during her high school days.
Along with Kavita Devi, in another first for WWE’s women’s evolution, WWE also announced in Dubai that Shadia Bseiso from Jordan becomes the first Arab woman from the Middle East to sign a WWE developmental contract.
About her wrestling learning:
Kavita Devi got training from former WWE World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali (Dalip Singh Rana). She learned all the required ring skills from Khali and will be starting her trainings at WWE Performance Center most probably in January, 2018 from Orlando, Florida.
WWE Performance Center is having seven training rings and is main developmental system for WWE. New wrestlers are provided training at this center. They are trained about to sharpen their skills through an extensive program that incorporates into ring training, physical readiness and character improvement. They get opportunity to focuses on four key pillars: Life Skills, Education, Wellness and Career Success.
