Madhya Pradesh Assembly has unanimously passed a bill related to giving death penalty for person raping girls under the age of 12 years on Tuesday. With this MP has become first state to implement death penalty rule for person raping 12 years or below aged girl.
The bill was introduced by Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Rampal Singh and was discussed in details with all parties including opposition before being passed.
Now the next step is to send the bill to president of India for for his assent and it will become a law in Madhya Pradesh after the permission is granted by the President Ram Nath Kovind.
Speaking on the bill Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that such kinds of hard punishments need to be given to those people of society who do such crimes.
