Narmada Parvati river linking project : Madhya Pradesh State Government has given its approval for linking Narmada River with Parvati River project. The project estimated costed Rs 7546-crore has aim to develop irrigation facilities on two lakh hectares of agriculture land in Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh.
The approval to Narmada-Parvati River Linking Project was given by Narmada Control Board (NCB), at a meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Benefits of the Narmada-Parvati River Linking Project
The main benefit of the river linking project will be in terms of irrigation. It will be implemented in four phases, every single phase will create irrigation facilities on at least 50000 hectares of agricultural land. It will directly benefit approximate 369 villages farmers of Sehore and Shajapur districts of Madhya Pradesh.
