Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar has been honoured with the Special Achievement Award as Indian of the year. She was given the award by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Virat Kohl. This was the 11th edition of the Indian of the Year Awards that was held in New Delhi. The awards are presented and organized by CNN IBN.
About Indian of the year special achievement award: These awards are presented every year for the people from different categories who has done some remarkable work in a particular field which makes India proud at world level. Some of the major categories for which these awards are presented are Politics, Sports, Business, Entertainment and Public Service.
Along with these categories and awards another award named as ‘CNN-IBN Indian of the Year – Popular Choice’ is also given which is decided based on the votes received by public online through social media platform, Facebook.
