Mark Beaumont a 34-year-old cyclist, from Perthshirehas has broken the world record for cycling around the world – by 44 days. Mark had set a target to complete cycling around the world in 80 days but he completed it faster and finished one day before the set target. He cycled for 79 days and covered a total of 18,000 miles.
With this Mark Beaumont has made a new record to cycle around the world. He had also set a record in 2008 when he completed cycling around the world in 198 days. later on his record was broken by other cyclists.
Mark Beaumont has now broken earlier cycling world record which was of 123 days. Achieving the target was not easy for Mark. He had to travel almost 180 miles in a day and was on the bike for 16 hours in a day. He was only taking 5 hours sleep.
Mark name was also registered in the Guinness book of World Records for the most miles cycled in a month, from Paris to Perth in Australia, verified at 7,031 miles (11,315km).
