President Ram Nath Kovind on 8th October, 2017 launched Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM)’s, ‘Jivamritam‘ filtration system, in Vallikkavu, Kollam district of Kerala. The aim is to provide clean water to families specially living in villages.
Rupees 100 Crore funding for the project Jivamritam will be provided by Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM). Under the initiative, aim is to provide clean water to one crore household in villages. The scheme will work in phases and in first phase a target to install water cleaning filtration systems to 5000 villages all over the country within one year.
The programme was organized as a part of the 64th birth anniversary of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, she was a spiritual leader and was known as “Amma”. Launching Jivamritam in the presence of Amritanandamayi Devi, Kovind said the greatest service to the divine is service to fellow human beings.
Kerala Governor Justice (Retired) P Sathasivam, state minister for tourism and devaswom Kadakampally Surendran, K C Venugopal, MP, and R Ramachandran, MLA were among the other dignities who were present at the inauguration of Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM)’s, ‘Jivamritam’ filtration system.
