Retired basketball legend Michael Jordan is the world’s highest-paid athlete of all time as per the latest Forbes list of highest paid athletes. The 54 years old Jordan has whopping $1.7 billion in the bank.
Jordan has a long term bright career as a basketball player and had a long term endorsements with bigger brands such as Beverage company Gatorade, clothing brand Hanes, American Sportswear giant Nike and playing card manufacturer Upper Deck. However major contributor to his wealth that made him number one was his 90 percent stake in American professional basketball team Charlotte Hornets, which is now worth $780 million.
After Jordan, it is former world number one golfer Tiger Woods, who has been placed at the second spot in Forbes list of highest paid athletes of all times with total worth of $1.7 billion pretax. Woods is still active in sports and is the only active athlete to crack top ten. He recently made a successful comeback at his own World Challenge tournament earlier this month, where he finished tied-9th.
With incredible $1.4 billion, its late America golfer Arnold Palmer who is at third position in latest Forbes list. He is followed by retired golfer Jack Nicklaus ($1.2 billion) to grab the fourth place in the list.
At fifth place, it is 48-year-old Formula One legend Michael Schumacher who has net worth of $1 billion. Currently he is in coma, due to skiing accident that happened with him in 2013 in the Alps.
