Mumbai Indians beat Rising Pune Supergiants in a thrilling final match by one run at Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad. With this win Mumbai has become the first team in the IPL history to lift the title thrice.
Mumbai Indians shown all round performance in bowling and batting. The MI decided to bat first and put a total of 129 for Rising Pune Supergiants to chase. Mitchell Johnson took three wickets by giving 26 runs and was well supported by Jasprit Bumrah.
While chasing 129 on a slower wicket, RPS didn’t start well and only Steve Smith and Rahane fought in the middle. Smith scored 51 in 50 balls hitting 2 fours and equal number of sixes. While Rahane hit 44 in 38 balls. Pune didn’t lose wickets but didn’t attack to the opposition and scored only at a strike rate of about 100.
KH Pandya (Mumbai Indians) was awarded Player of the match for his wonderful performance.
