Former National champion Parupalli Kashyap has won the Austrian Open International Challenge. In the final match played, Kashyap defeated June Wei Cheam of Malaysia in straight games. This is Parupalli’s first international title in over three years.
Former National Champion and second seed, Kashyap looked in phenomenal touch throughout whole tournament and also in final. In the first set both players played well but it was Indian Kashyap who got the upper hand and won the set in last minutes.
Indian Player after winning first set with close margin came back strongly in second game and sealed the game for him in just 37 minutes. This win is a great boost for him especially the kind of problems he faced in last few years. Parupalli Kashyap had a very tough time in recent years as he went under the knife for a knee injury, suffered a dislocation of his right shoulder, a hamstring pull and an abdominal strain.
