The 48th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum is going to be held in Davos on January 26, 2018. Indian PM Narendra Modi is going to join the meeting and has left for Davos (Switzerland) to attend World Economic Forum meeting. Along with PM, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu others have also left. This is largest-ever Indian delegation that is going to atten WEF 48th meeting at Davos.
‘Creating a shared future in a fractured world’ is the theme of WEF meeting. The Indian delegation will comprise of six union ministers, two chief ministers, over 100 CEOs and several other high-profile attendees. This is for the first time in past twenty years history that an Indian delegation to WEF meeting is lead by Prime Minister, Earlier, it was HD Deve Gowda who had led the delegation in 1997.
WEF 2018 is also important from women participation view point as this is for the first time when women participation is happening at such a large scale. Also the co-chair is a woman in this WEF meeting.
More than 3,000 leaders from business across the world, government, politics, academia and social sectors are going to take part in the upcoming WEF meeting at Davos, Switzerland on 26 January, 2018.
