Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 in New Delhi on 17 March, 2018. PM will address farmers on Saturday regarding agriculture. He will also inaugurate “Jaivik Kheti” Portal and confer Krishi Karman Award and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Krishi Vigyan protsahan awards.
Main points
The three days Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 will start from Friday will be held at Pusa campus. There will be more than six hundreds stalls including from Ministries of Textile, Food Processing, Commerce and North East Council. Latest agriculture and related technologies will be displayed at the event.
Doubling the farmers income by 2022 will be main theme of mela. Awareness will be created about latest agriculture technologies and innovations among farmers so that same could be implemented in their work to increase productivity. Apart from that live demos on Micro-irrigation, usage of waste water, animal husbandry and fisheries will also be the main attractions of the fair.
Krishi Unnati Mela
Krishi Unnati Mela is a three days event organized every year at Delhi. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 19 March 2016. Its objective is to create make farmers aware of new technology and innovations in agriculture so that their income could be doubled by 2022.
