Indian Ace shuttler and Silver medal winner at Rio Olympics 2017 PV Sindhu won silver medal at world badminton championship held at Glasgow, Scotland (United Kingdom). Earlier Saina has also won bronze medal in the championship. This has happened for the first time in Indian badminton history that Indian shuttlers have won two medals in the championship.
Sindhu played final match against Nozomi Okuhara of Japan. Sindhu played wonderfully but could not manage to win. Nozomi Okuhara defeated her with 19-21, 22-20, 20-22 score. This is overall third medal won by PV Sindhu in world championships. In past, she has won bronze medals in world badminton championships held in 2013 and 2014 .

Sindhu is Indian badminton player belonging to Hyderabad city. Currently she ranks at 4th position in the world BWF World Ranking. She is the first Indian woman to win a silver medal for India in Olympics and only the second women after Saina Nehwal to win medal for country in Olympics. She became famous internationally when she made to top 20 of the BWF World Ranking in September 2012 just at the age of 17.
PV Sindhu has got Padma Shri (India’s fourth highest civilian honor) for her magnificent achievements in sports.
