Finance ministry of India has released a notification to issue coin of value 100 rupees to honor AIADMK founder Late Dr. M G Ramachandran on the occassion of his 100th birth anniversary and renowned Carnatic singer Dr MS Subbulakshmi.
Rs.100 coin will be issued for the first time in the history of Indian currency.
A part from that Reserve Bank of India will also release new Rs 5 and Rs 10 coins to honour former Tamil Nadu chief minister and the Bharat Ratna-winning singer.

On the front side the coin will be having Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar and Sayamamev Jayate will be written at the bottom in devnagri language.
The portrait of Dr. MG Ramachandran will be on the back side positioned at center.
The total weight of the coin will be 35 grams.
