Saudi Arabia for the first time has decided to allow women into Sports Stadiums from 2018. Three sports stadiums from next year as per the authorities reports will be made ready for women entering. It is a landmark move that would open up the previously male-only venues to families.
The kingdom with some world’s tightest restrictions on women had restricted women for long time from entering into the sports stadiums by strict rules on segregation of the sexes in public.
Preparations have been started to make three stadiums of Riyadh, Jeddah and Damman to be ready for men entering with their families from early 2018.
The announcement is in line with powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s ambitious reform drive shaking up the ultra-conservative kingdom, including the decision to allow women to drive from next June.
