Telangana government on June 4 launched the Pension scheme for women living single. With the Telangana became the first Indian state to do so. This scheme will cover total 108,302 beneficiaries in 31 districts of the state. The pension papers were distributed by the state Ministers and MLAs of Telangana in the functions organised at various places across the the state.
Salient features of the the scheme:
1. Rs.1000 per month will of the be given as the financial help.
2. Amount will be directly deposited to a woman’s bank account to avoid any fraudulent activities.
3. Along, with the this Pension programme, children of such women will get entry into educational institutions without Attending the written exam or without any lottery system.
4. Beneficiaries Covered will be divorced women, unmarried and joginis.
