The Badminton world federation released its world ranking. It’s a proud moment for India as three Indian male badminton players got place in top 15 for the second time. This ranking reflects the hard work done by the male players.
Indian shuttlers have occupied 13th, 14th and 15th places. Ajay Jayaram maintained his previous year spot (13th place) whereas Kidambi Srikanth and Sai Praneeth were placed at 14th and 15th place respectively.
Srikanth improved one place from earlier previous (15). However Sai Praneeth was the pick of the players. He jumped up nine places after he won back to back titles in Singapore and Thailand.
The rankings for women shuttlers Sindhu (3) and Saina Nehwal(11) remain the same.
Mix doubles:
In mix doubles three Indian pairs have got places in top 50. Pair of Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri is top ranked pair for India with 29th position in the world. The other two pairs in list of first fifty pairs are:-
1. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty got 42nd place.
2. MR Arjun and Shlok Ramchandran at place number 46.
