PM Laid Foundation Stone of World’s Largest Renewable Energy Park
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15th December 2020 laid foundation stone of first of its kind World’s largest Hybrid Renewable Energy Park in Kutch, Gujarat. The park will spread over 72,600 hectares and has capacity of 30,000 MW. The park is important from employment generation point of view also as it will provide employment to around 1 lakh people of India.
Pure EV and CSIR-CECRI signed MOU to develop Lithium-Ion Battery technology for EVs
IIT Hyderabad incubated start up Pure EV and CSIR-Central Electro Chemical Research Institute (CECRI) have signed an agreement to conduct joint research on development of Lithium-Ion Battery technology for electric vehicles. MoU signed with Pure EV is a part of India’s project called CSIR Innovation Centre for Next Generation Energy Storage Solutions (ICeNGESS). ICeNGESS aims to produce Lithium-Ion Batteries in the scale of 100 MW.
Impact: Currently India is exporting importing Lithium Cells from China on large scale. The step will surely help India to become self dependent in Lithium-ion technology.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Museum to Open in Kolkata
Government of India is going to open a museum of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Kolkata. Museum will be inaugurated on 125th birth anniversary of Netaji. Along with that some government has plans to reprint some of the books of this great freedom fighter.

Netaji was head of Indian National Army which was formed in 1942. INA was originally formed by Mohan Singh. Later it was revived by Netaji.
India Celebrated Vijay Diwas
On 16th December, 2020, India celebrated Vijay Diwas. The day is marked to remember victory of Bangladesh over Pakistan. On this day, Abdullah Khan Niazi surrendered along with 93,000 troops. This day is celebrated in Bangladesh also where it is named as Bijoy Dibos.
eSanjeevani Telemedicine crossed 1 Million Consultations
As per announcement of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, eSanjeevani Telemedicine implemented under the Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre (AB-HWC) scheme has crossed one million tele-consultations. The eSanjeevani is the first of its kind in delivering health services online. This initiative has target to connect all 1,50,000 HWCs by December 2022.
Human Development Report 2020 Released- India’s Position
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has released this year’s Human Development Report 2020. India is placed at 131st place in the list out of total 189 countries. India scored 0.645 while Norway with 0.957 is at top in the list. India has slipped down two places as compared to its previous position of 129 in the year 2019. India’s neighboring country Pakistan is at 154 position while China secured 85th spot. Bangladesh is at 133.
Andhra Pradesh Launched YSR Free Insurance Scheme For Farmers
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Jaganmohan Reddy has launched YSR Free Crop Insurance Scheme for farmers of the state. The scheme aims to provide financial support to farmers who lost their crops during Kharif 2019. Around 9.48 lakh farmers got benefit from the scheme. Rs 1,252 were directly send to their bank accounts.
