Union Cabinet to Construct National Recruitment Agency
Union Cabinet of India on 19th August, 2020 given its approval to construct a National Recruitment Agency. Now you will not have to apply separately for various government jobs. The newly set up NRA (National Recruitment Agency) will conduct a common Eligibility Test for Government Jobs and Banking sector posts. This will help candidates to prepare for a single test rather than going for separate written exams. It is surely a revolutionary step taken by government which will ease recruitment and selection process.
Important Points of National Recruitment Agency
- The Common Eligibility Test (CET) will be organised for non-gazetted posts in central government and public sector banks.
- It will assign marks to candidates as per their performance. The score card will have validity of three years.
- Through this single online CET, candidates will be eligible for more than 1.25 lakh government jobs approximately.
A fund of amount Rs 1,517 crores is allocated for National Recruitment Agency. Earlier the exams for various public sector banks were conducted through IBPS. It was SSC’s duty to conduct exam for various government jobs for many departments. Similarly, Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is given responsibility to organise railway recruitment exams. Government aim behind the construction of National Recruitment Agency is to combine all recruitment agencies in central government.
Lakhs of applicants appear for government job written exams conducted by various authorities. They have to prepare for all exams. Also the application fee for each is paid. But now candidate’s time and money will be saved with the introduction of single combined exam. The area of opportunities will increase.
