Uttar Pradesh as per the latest statistics released by Union Home Ministry is the top Indian State with highest active gun licences among all states as well as Union Teritories also. According to statistics, 12.77 lakh people in Uttar Pradesh hold a valid licence to carry a Gun with them.
The second state in terms of having valid gun license is Jammu and Kashmir. The state has total 3.69 lakh people with a valid licence to carry a gun with them. Third place is occupied by Punjab with 3.59 lakh gun licences followed by Madhya Pradesh(2.47 lakh) and Haryana(1.41 lakh). Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli territories have been placed at the bottom with lowest number of Guns.
