Indian woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat got silver at Asian Wrestling Championships in 50kg category (freestyle). Phogat lost her final match against Chinese wrestler Chun Lei by 3-2 margin. She gave a tough fight to Chinese wrestler in the final played at Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on Thursday.
Earlier 23 years old Vinesh Phogat defeated wrestlers from Korea, Kazak, and Japan to reach to the final of game. This is Phogat’s second consecutive medal after her last year podium finish at home.
Another Indian female wrestler, Sangeeta secured won bronze medal in 59kg weight category. She was defeated by Korea Republic’s Um Jieun by margin of 9-4. With this India has now total four medals in the event. Earlier Greco-Roman wrestlers Harpreet Singh and Rajender Kumar have also clinched bronze.
