Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli scored 31st ODI Century of his career in one day international match played against new Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With this hundred Kohli has surpassed former Australian Captain Ricky Ponting’s record of 30 tons in 50 over format game.
Main Highlights:
As Virat Kohli scored 31st ODI Century, he claimed the second place in the list of most ODI hundreds. Kohli is only behind the Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar who is at the top of the list with 49 ODI hundreds.
Kohli’s record is much better in terms of average as he has scored with an average of 55+ whereas Tendulkar and Ponting batting averages were near to 44 and 42 respectively.
Kohli has crossed 200 matches mark and became the 14th Indian and 72nd cricketer to reach this milestone. He has also become the highest run scorer after playing 200 matches. This score was recently held by AB de Villiers.
If Kohli continues to score runs at this pace, then soon he will surely cross the record of most ODI hundreds scored by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli has just played 200 ODIs and has a very long career ahead and we can expect that new records will be set by him as he progresses with his career.
