A project to install WiFi facilities for gram panchayats in Karnataka was announced by the state government. The project will start by covering 2,650 gram panchayats initially and by time will cover whole Karnataka state gram panchayats.
Important Technology Initiatives by Karnataka State Government:
The state is working hard to adopt new technologies and taking more initiatives of such kinds. To attract young minds and to encourage them to be innovate and invent and become entrepreneurs, the state is planning to set up New-age incubation network centres at colleges across the state.
Centres of excellence for areas like aerospace, defence and Internet of Things (IOT) have also been set up by the state to provide required support to emerging technologies below:
- Data science
- Artificial intelligence
- Machine learning
- Robotics
- Cyber security
Karnataka government has also partnered with Nasscom for the establishment of a centre for data science and artificial intelligence, which will help entrepreneurs to be successful.
