Indian sixer king Yuvraj Singh will be promoting a sports initiative in South Asia for youngsters arranged by UNICEF. He launched the campaign to promote sports among Adolescents. The name of the initiative is “Power of Sports to Shape the Future of Adolescents” and is backed by ICC.
Along with Yuvraj Singh young under-19 players from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka were also present at the launch of the Power of Sports to Shape the Future of Adolescents campaign. All these players are going to participate in the upcoming ICC under-19 World Cup in New Zealand in January next year from their respective countries.
A friendly match was also organised by UNICEF South Asia and the ICC between the players and the youth attending the event. ICC CEO David Richardson on the occasion said that the partnership between UNICEF and ICC to promote sports among Adolescents and will give experience of international cricket to youngsters.
